Latest release LatentKeep 1.5.0 · 12 October 2026 · in active development
1.5.0 12 October 2026
- GenLens is now **LatentKeep**. Same file, same licence keys, new name: the download is `latentkeep.py` with `LatentKeep.command` and `LatentKeep.bat`, the cache folder is `.latentkeep_cache`, and settings live in `~/.latentkeep`. Existing `.genlens_cache` folders, the old settings folder, browser preferences and GL1 licence keys are picked up automatically; nothing needs to be redone.
- Size filter: Filters → Size groups images by their longest side (up to 512 px, 513 to 1024, 1025 to 2048, over 2048) so small renders are one click away. Search understands `px:<=512` (longest side), `mp:<1` (megapixels), `kb:<200` and `mb:>5` (file size) alongside the existing `width:` and `height:`.
- Sort has "Smallest image", "Largest image" and "Smallest file" next to "Largest file".
1.4.1
- Fixed: Tonight’s summary counted an image as marked tonight after you undid the mark, and "ever" left out anything marked before 1.4.0. Every flag, rating, tag and note now remembers its own time; undo restores the earlier time, and "ever" lists every mark.
- Undo moved to U so it works the same in the grid, the lightbox and triage; Z stays zoom in the lightbox. Ctrl/⌘+Z still undoes anywhere. The undo toast stays twice as long.
- The summary names its period (Tonight, The last hour, Today, Everything you’ve marked) and the grid chip says "All marked images" instead of "since the beginning".
- Triage end card: the last image’s buttons are hidden under it, the card shows how long the pass took, Enter opens tonight’s summary, and the summary is now the card’s main button.
- The triage bar no longer rearranges itself between images with long model names.
- Red is reserved for the Trash: "Keep best in all groups" confirms with a plain button, the standing Trash button is outlined until you hover it, and the red itself is darker so white text on it reads at 4.5:1.
- Near-duplicates: the chip above the grid shows a labelled Tolerance switch and the count line reads "27 of 40 in 9 groups"; "Keep best in all groups" moved to a bar above the groups that also says what "best" means.
- Folders have their own tab in Settings; the header folder name opens it. Paths are shortened to the last two segments, the full path is in the tooltip, and removing a folder from a merged gallery asks first and says what stays where. In a merged gallery the tiles of "All images" carry the folder name.
- The More menu is grouped: review, output, folder.
- Locked trial tiles have a darker caption background; "Could not save" names the recovery.
1.4.0
- Undo: Z in the grid or Ctrl/⌘+Z anywhere reverts the last flag, rating, tag or note, one step at a time, including a whole "Keep best, mark the rest" batch. The toast names what was undone.
- Tonight’s summary: More → "Tonight’s summary" (and the triage end card) lists everything flagged, rated, tagged or noted since GenLens started, in the last hour, today or ever, with the favorites, the Trash step, a contact sheet and "show in grid" one click away. Marks now remember when they were made, so the summary survives closing triage and reloading the page.
- Several folders in one gallery: Settings → Gallery → Folders has "Add a folder…" next to "Open another folder…". Each added folder appears as its own top-level entry in the folder tree, the header shows "2 folders", and every folder keeps its own cache, marks and notes on disk; nothing moves. Remove returns to one folder. Collections and saved views belong to the first folder.
- Near-duplicates: the chip above the grid has a tolerance switch (strict, normal, loose) so seeds of one prompt land in one group when you want them to, and a "Keep best in all groups" button that asks once and can be undone as one step.
- Tile strip: choose the two fields under each tile (model, seed, sampler, steps, CFG, rating, date, file name, size or none) under Settings → Gallery; saved views remember the choice.
1.3.4
- Fixed: in Safari a dragged lightbox section stopped following the pointer after the first move. Reordering now works the same in Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
1.3.3
- Fixed: reordering the lightbox panel only worked when you grabbed the small grip. The whole section heading is now the handle, the grip stays visible, and a short hint appears the first time you drag.
1.3.2
- The lightbox panel can be arranged the way you work. Drag the grip next to any section heading, or focus it and press the arrow keys; Settings → Lightbox has the same list with up and down buttons and a "Reset order". The file name, size line and its links stay at the top.
- New default order: prompt, negative prompt, model, LoRAs, seed, settings, then rating and tags, note, related, collections, actions. The seed keeps its large type and the ComfyUI buttons beside it.
- The note has its own switch under Settings → Lightbox.
1.3.1
- Triage ends with a result card: images seen, favorites, to delete, rated and untouched, with buttons to show the favorites, move the rejects to the Trash, start over or finish. The counter at the top shows the same tallies while you work, and a short hint names the keys when triage opens.
- Triage: adding a tag no longer risks the session; Esc in the tag field returns to the Done button. Pressing F, D or a rating digit a second time removes that mark and stays on the image instead of moving on.
- The red Trash button is visible in the toolbar whenever images are marked for deletion, in any view; it switches to the "To delete" view and asks for confirmation as before.
- Near-duplicates are shown as groups with a header per group (count and seed) and a "Keep best, mark the rest" button that keeps the highest rated, favourite or newest image and flags the others. The group badge stays visible on hover and is read out with the image name.
- Keyboard and screen readers: every dialog hands focus back sensibly when it closes; the selection bar and the triage counter are announced; tag fields have labels; the search help button announces its state; greyed-out trial images leave the Tab order but stay reachable with the arrow keys; / works from the help button.
- Search: `note:`, `tag:`, `lora:` or `meta:` with nothing after the colon means "has one".
- Hovering a rated tile shows the rating in the caption instead of covering it.
- Settings → Lightbox has two presets, Essentials and Everything, above the section toggles.
1.3.0
- Triage: a new button next to Compare goes through the current view one image at a time, full screen. F and D flag, 1 to 5 rate (0 clears), T tags, Space or → moves on, Backspace goes back, Enter opens the image in the lightbox, Esc returns to the grid on the image you stopped at. By default GenLens moves on after you rate or flag; Settings → Gallery switches that off.
- Notes: every image has a note field under its rating (N focuses it), and every folder has a note at the bottom of the sidebar. Notes are searched with plain words, `note:client`, and `has:note`.
- Near-duplicates: More → "Find near-duplicates" groups images that look alike across seeds, using a small perceptual hash of the thumbnails that is computed once and cached. Groups are numbered on the tiles; the chip above the grid clears the view.
- Folders: More → "Open another folder…" opens a native folder dialog and switches the gallery without restarting; the folders you opened are listed under Settings → Gallery → Folders and in the header folder name. GenLens returns to its start folder on restart.
- Updates: the updater can install from the release zip (`url_zip` in version.json) and verifies the extracted script the same way, so the server folder no longer needs a loose genlens.py for new installs.
1.2.5
- Search: Esc and the clear button in the search box now also clear the filter, not just the text.
- The search syntax help (the ? next to the search box) is readable again; it rendered as a transparent strip.
- Keyboard: folders, collections and saved views in the sidebar can be reached with Tab, chosen with Enter and walked with the arrow keys. The lightbox moves focus to its Close button when it opens and returns it to the image tile when it closes; Tab stays inside the lightbox. Screen readers hear the prompt as one text.
- Toolbar: Export, Statistics, Re-scan folder and the thumbnail size moved into a "More" menu. The selection bar shows its actions only once an image is selected.
- Settings is split into Gallery, Lightbox, Shortcuts and Licence & updates.
- Trial: clicking a greyed-out image opens a small "Unlock GenLens" dialog with the key field instead of the full Settings; the header shows "10 of 40 images open" instead of two different counts.
- Light theme: amber text and the active folder row now meet 4.5:1 contrast; placeholders are darker in both themes; the smallest lightbox labels grew to 12 px.
- Tiles show the model and seed in a strip under each image; hovering shows the file name, steps, sampler and CFG. Switch it off under Settings → Gallery.
- Keyboard: every dialog takes focus when it opens, keeps Tab inside and hands focus back when it closes; Esc closes a dialog even from a focused control. Arrow keys move through the grid and the More menu.
- Screen readers: toasts and the image count are announced, Copy buttons say what they copy, and tiles announce file name, seed, model, flag and rating.
- Phones: the toolbar collapses into one "Sort & filter" button and a folder picker, so subfolders and collections are reachable on small screens; the header is about half as tall.
- Trial: actions that need a key (export, contact sheets, ComfyUI) carry a lock and open the unlock dialog directly instead of failing after the click.
- Empty stars are visible again, the "Nothing matches" view has a "Clear search and filters" button, and a failed copy says so.
- GenLens has a mark: a lens that shows the picture above and its recipe below. It sits in the header and in the browser tab.
- The download now includes GenLens-How-To.pdf, a short guide to the first start on macOS and Windows, the gallery, the shortcuts, the trial and updates.
- Lightbox: the seed now sits at the top of the panel in large type, with Copy, "Re-run in ComfyUI" and "Save to ComfyUI" right beside it. The remaining actions stay in the Actions section.
- Keyboard: greyed-out trial images can be reached with Tab and opened with Enter; Compare and the A/B view take focus when they open and give it back when they close; Esc in the tag field keeps focus inside the lightbox; tile labels for screen readers update when a rating or flag changes.
1.2.4
- macOS: GenLens removes the download quarantine flag from its own launcher once it runs, so the "could not verify it is free of malware" dialog appears at most once per download. A README-first.txt in the download explains the one-time approval on macOS and Windows.
1.2.3
- A/B view: the divider can now be dragged directly on the image with the mouse, a pen or a finger; it also has a visible handle. The slider in the toolbar still works.
1.2.2
- Trial: after the 10 open images, the next 90 images of the folder appear greyed out with a lock, so you get a feel for the full gallery. They cannot be opened, flagged, compared or exported; clicking one shows where to enter a key.
1.2.1
- Trial: the 10 images are now the 10 newest of the folder you are looking at, so subfolder selection, the "Include subfolders" switch and "Hide images without metadata" no longer reduce the count. The folder tree shows all folders with their counts in the trial too.
- Fixed: after entering a licence key, the newly visible images were outlined as if they had just been added.
1.2.0
- Trial and licence keys: without a key GenLens shows the 10 newest images and keeps export, contact sheets and ComfyUI actions for the full version. A key unlocks the same file. Gumroad keys (verified online at activation and about once a month afterwards) and vendor-signed keys (verified offline) are both accepted; the key is stored in your home folder and follows you across image folders.
- In-app updates: Settings downloads a new version, verifies size and checksum, keeps the previous script as a backup and can restart GenLens on the spot. "Restore previous version" undoes an update. The launchers restart GenLens automatically after an update.
1.1.1
- A "back to top" button appears in the gallery after scrolling down. The Home key does the same.
1.1.0
- Load in ComfyUI: "Save to ComfyUI" writes an image's embedded workflow into ComfyUI's Workflows panel (Browse → GenLens), ready to open with one click. Works with the full workflow or, for images that only carry the API prompt, in API format.
- Re-run in ComfyUI: queue the exact prompt again from the lightbox or for a whole selection; same seed, same settings.
- ComfyUI address and workflow folder in Settings, with a connection test. Also settable with --comfyui on the command line.
1.0.0
- First release.
- Prompt analytics: click any word in a prompt to see how often you use it and how your rated images score with it; word statistics in Stats.
- Collections: named sets of images across folders, exportable as zip or contact sheet.
- Contact sheets as PNG or PDF with filename, seed, model, prompt, settings or date under each image.
- A/B view for two images: slider, flicker and 100 % zoom.
- Saved views: store any combination of search, filters, folder and sort under a name. "Similar prompts" ranking from any image.
- Version shown in Settings, manual "Check for updates" and an optional daily check (off by default).
0.4.0
